CYPRESS
KITCHEN
This Cypress Kitchen was built from river recovered
logs from Florida. Trees felled a century ago, and lost on the way to the
sawmill, were brought to the surface by scuba divers and custom cut
for this project.
Sequentially matched single-width door panels are
framed by quarter- sawn door stiles and rails, joined with pegged mortise
and tenon joints. A solid quarter-sawn Sugar Maple countertop completes
the woodwork.
These cabinets were built for a renovation project in
an 18th century farm house in Howard County MD. Doreagan Manor was the home
of Charles Carroll, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Carroll's
descendants still live in the Manor House. |
